Abstract

Abstract

The use of Hermeneutics as a means of interpreting the Qur'an is still in a long debate among Muslims. Many studies have tried to show that the theory of Hermeneutics can be used in the interpretation of the Qur'an. In the history of Hermeneutics, Schleiermacher is included as one of the earliest figures and he is bring the theory of grammatical hermeneutics and psychological hermeneutics. Gramatical hermeneutics has been proved by many Muslim thinkers can be used in the interpretation of the Qur'an. However, psychological hermeneutics can not be accepted, because the Qur'an is still a text that is believed to be the creation of God. This paper try to explain the theory of psychological hermeneutics and tries to relate it to the interpretation of the Qur'an. At least, in this paper concluded that psychological hermeneutics can not be fully used in the interpretation of the Qur'an, For no one can enter or truly know God is the author of the Qur'an, except God Himself. But this psychological hermeneutics is not fully rejected, because the interpreter can still know God through the attributes that God introduced himself. So if in this corridor then the scholars Quranic studies Qur'an has done so long before hermeneutics known by Islamic thinkers. And Isyari’s Tafsir or Sufi’s Tafsir has little to do with the spirit of psychological hermeneutics that was built Schleiermacher, His own spiritual experience is a effort to know the author of the Qur'an.
