Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Amanah and Quality Management (IJAQM) employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of published articles. The process is designed to be fair, transparent, and efficient, adhering to international standards for scholarly publishing. The steps are as follows:

  1. Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the IJAQM online submission system, ensuring compliance with the journal’s submission guidelines.

  2. Initial Editorial Review: The editorial team conducts an initial assessment to verify the manuscript’s suitability, alignment with the journal’s scope, and adherence to formatting and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be desk-rejected.

  3. Reviewer Assignment: Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent, qualified reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Both the author(s) and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure impartiality.

  4. Review Process: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field of Quality Assurance and Quality Management. Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend one of the following: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.

  5. Editorial Decision: The editor-in-chief or associate editor reviews the feedback and makes a final decision. Authors receive detailed reviewer comments and are given a timeline for revisions, if applicable.

  6. Revision and Resubmission: Authors revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback and resubmit for further evaluation, if required. Revised manuscripts may undergo additional rounds of review.

  7. Final Decision: Upon satisfactory revisions, the manuscript is accepted for publication. The editorial team ensures final checks for formatting and compliance before publication.

The entire process typically takes 8–12 weeks, depending on the complexity of revisions and reviewer availability. IJAQM is committed to maintaining a transparent and constructive review process to support authors in producing high-quality research.

Open Access Policy

IJAQM is an open-access journal, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to a global audience without financial or legal barriers. This aligns with our mission to disseminate knowledge widely and promote inclusive scholarship in Quality Assurance and Quality Management.

  • Accessibility: All articles are available immediately upon publication on the IJAQM website, accessible to researchers, practitioners, and the public worldwide.

  • Licensing: Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing users to share, adapt, and distribute the content with appropriate attribution to the author(s) and journal.

  • Author Retention of Copyright: Authors retain the copyright of their work while granting IJAQM the right to publish and distribute the article.

  • No Subscription Fees: Readers are not required to pay subscription fees or register to access content, ensuring maximum reach and impact.

The open-access model may involve article processing charges (APCs) to cover publication costs, but IJAQM strives to keep these affordable and offers waivers or discounts for authors from low-income countries or those facing financial constraints, subject to editorial approval.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

IJAQM is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing malpractice in scholarly publishing. We adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expect all stakeholders—authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers—to comply with these principles.

Author Responsibilities

  • Originality: Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere or is under consideration by another journal.

  • Authorship: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and agree to the final manuscript. Ghostwriting, guest authorship, or other authorship malpractices are strictly prohibited.

  • Data Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy and integrity of data, avoiding fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, including financial, personal, or institutional relationships that could influence the research.

  • Ethical Compliance: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical guidelines and include necessary approvals.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and not share or use them for personal purposes.

  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted impartially, free from personal bias or conflicts of interest.

  • Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based feedback to support authors in improving their work.

Editorial Responsibilities

  • Fairness: Editors ensure an unbiased and transparent review process, making decisions based on academic merit.

  • Confidentiality: Editors maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and reviewer identities.

  • Handling Misconduct: Editors investigate allegations of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication) promptly and fairly, following COPE guidelines. Retractions or corrections are issued when necessary.

Publisher Responsibilities

  • Transparency: The publisher ensures clear communication of journal policies and processes.

  • Integrity: The publisher supports ethical practices and provides resources to maintain the journal’s quality and reputation.

Any violations of these ethical standards are taken seriously. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly, and appropriate actions, such as retractions or bans on future submissions, will be enforced as needed.

Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

IJAQM is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record by ensuring all submissions are free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct. Our plagiarism screening policy is as follows:

  • Screening Process: All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using industry-standard software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate) during the initial editorial review and before final acceptance.

  • Scope of Screening: The screening process checks for similarities with published works, including journal articles, books, conference proceedings, and online content, as well as self-plagiarism from the author’s previous work.

  • Threshold: Manuscripts with significant unoriginal content (typically above 15% similarity, excluding properly cited references and common phrases) are flagged for further review.

  • Handling Plagiarism:

    • Minor Issues: If minor similarities are detected (e.g., unintentional overlap or improper paraphrasing), authors are asked to revise and properly cite the content.

    • Major Issues: Manuscripts with substantial plagiarism, including verbatim copying without attribution or self-plagiarism without disclosure, are rejected. Authors may be barred from future submissions, depending on the severity.

  • Author Responsibility: Authors are expected to submit original work and properly cite all sources. Self-plagiarism must be disclosed, and reused content from prior publications must be minimal and justified.

  • Transparency: Authors are informed of plagiarism screening results during the review process. If plagiarism is detected, detailed reports are shared with authors to facilitate corrections or clarify disputes.

IJAQM’s plagiarism policy ensures that published research upholds the journal’s commitment to trust, integrity, and sustainable quality, maintaining its reputation as a credible and ethical publication.
